Yes, personalization is a powerful feature available exclusively when you purchase our optional Email Distribution Service.
Our sending platform is what allows us to automatically replace tags (like [Name]) with the correct data from your list. This feature will not work if you choose the ‘Self-Distribution’ method, as standard email clients like Outlook or Gmail cannot process these tags.
To use personalization, prepare your contact list with two columns: one for the email address and one for the name.
Important: You must only upload the recipient’s first name into the name column. Our system uses the exact text you provide. For example:
- If you upload “Sarah“, the greeting will correctly read: “Dear Sarah,”
If you upload “Sarah Jones“, the greeting will incorrectly read: “Dear Sarah Jones,”
What happens if a name is missing for some contacts in my list?
Our system is designed to handle this gracefully. When you set up your personalized greeting, you can also define a “fallback” or default greeting (for example, “Hello,” or “Dear Colleague,”).
This default greeting will be used automatically for any contact in your list that is missing a first name. This ensures that no one receives an awkward or empty greeting like “Dear ,”, giving you a professional result every time.
